Wallack's Pictures, Framing Artists Supplies - Ottawa Citizen, 1953

History

Wallack’s has been part of the community since 1939. We began as a photographic supply store founded by picture enthusiast Sam Wallack. In the mid-1950’s, Wallack’s expanded from the original narrow shop on Bank street into the empty store next to it to offer more selection of art and hobby supplies.

Vision and Mission

Wallack’s new vision expresses how it will grow to become the serious artist’s go-to-place by leveraging its products, services and staff to inspire the artist to create and try something new. We will put an emphasis on giving the customer the best possible service through product availability and excellent communication.

Company Values and Philosophy

People: We strive to give our people all the tools and opportunities to reach their full potential.

Integrity: We work with transparency and honesty; we are guided by our morals to determine what is fair and ethical.

Three Pillars of Wallack’s

Wallack’s is staffed by artists who value and understand the lives of artists—both budding and established. The three pillars of Wallack’s are: framing, materials and education.
