MTN WEPRO Gesso Primer is developed to prepare, seal, prime, and improve colour adhesion on a wide variety of artistic and creative surfaces. By covering pores and creating a more uniform painting ground, it helps reduce paint absorption and supports more efficient use of colour layers.

This white spray gesso is particularly useful when preparing canvas, fabric, wood, plywood, cardboard, paper, concrete, and metal surfaces before painting. Its high opacity allows artists to establish a bright, consistent base while maintaining excellent flexibility once dry.

Compared to applying traditional brush-on gesso, the aerosol format offers quick and even coverage with minimal brush texture. It can be especially useful when preparing multiple panels, canvases, or irregular surfaces where speed and consistency are important.

Artists working with oil painting, tempera, mixed media, crafts, and DIY projects can benefit from the improved surface adhesion this primer provides. For plastics, Montana Colors recommends testing first or using an appropriate primer before application.

Shake the can thoroughly for approximately one minute after hearing the mixing ball. Proper mixing helps ensure even coverage and consistent opacity.

Apply to clean, dry surfaces free from dust, grease, and loose material. If preparing metal surfaces, remove corrosion before application.

For best results, apply several thin coats rather than one heavy coat. Montana Colors recommends three thin coats for more uniform coverage and adhesion.

The surface becomes touch dry in approximately 30 minutes and reaches complete drying within 24–48 hours, depending on conditions.

After use, turn the aerosol upside down and spray until only gas emerges. This helps clear the valve and reduce nozzle clogging.

Store in a cool, dry location. During Ottawa winters, allow the aerosol to acclimate gradually to room temperature before use, as cold storage may affect spray performance.

Ventilation: Use only in well-ventilated areas. Avoid spraying near energized or plugged-in equipment.

PPE Recommendation: Consider gloves, eye protection, and appropriate respiratory protection when spraying for extended periods.

Flammability: Aerosol containers are pressurized and should be kept away from heat, sparks, and open flames.

MSDS/SDS: Safety documentation is available from the manufacturer upon request.
