Canvas and Supports
Wallack's offers a large selection of Canadian-made canvases in standard and unconventional sizes. Wallack’s also carries primed and unprimed canvas that can be purchased off of a roll at any length to accommodate for artists who prefer to explore unique sizes.
Wallack's canvases and supports are created to accept a variety of media such as oil paint, acrylic paint, gouache, watercolour, and even pastels. Our canvases are made from 100% woven cotton material that is durable enough to withstand layers of paint and other mediums.
Alternatively, we carry a large selection of wooden panels that are suitable for other types of media like encaustic painting. Some artists will opt for these surfaces for their paintings because they are more stable and easily portable without the risk of damaging the surface. Our wooden panels come unprimed, so the artist can choose to work on the raw wooden surface or to add a layer of primer, like gesso, to have an even and non-absorbent surface.
