Pébéo 7A Opaque Markers 4 mm Set of 6 Pastel Colours are water-based fabric markers designed for drawing and decorating directly on textiles. This pastel colour set gives artists, designers, and DIY makers an easy way to create soft-toned illustrations, lettering, and decorative patterns on both light and dark fabrics.

Each marker features a 4 mm round nib and opaque pigment designed to sit visibly on textile surfaces. Once heat-set with an iron, the colours become wash-resistant, making them suitable for customizing clothing, tote bags, home textiles, and wearable art projects.

[+] The Creative Details: Performance & Feel (Click to Expand)

The Pébéo 7A Opaque Fabric Markers are designed for textile decoration where colour visibility and control matter. Their opaque formula allows pastel tones to remain visible even on darker fabrics, something standard fabric markers often struggle with.

The 4 mm round nib creates smooth, controlled strokes that work well for drawing, outlining, lettering, and graphic textile designs. Artists can achieve consistent lines without the mess of brush-based fabric paint.

This pastel marker set is particularly suited to soft illustration styles, subtle pattern work, and custom apparel projects. The colours layer well for decorative textile designs such as hand-painted clothing, fabric art, personalized gifts, and workshop or classroom textile projects.

Compared with bottled textile paint, fabric markers provide greater precision and faster setup. They may not cover very large areas efficiently, but they excel for drawing details, outlines, and graphic elements.

To expand your textile art setup, explore Pébéo 7A Opaque Markers, compare with Pébéo 7A Light Fabrics Markers, experiment with colour layering using Pébéo 7A Fabric Spray Paint, or try broader colour palettes in the Pébéo 7A Opaque Markers 4 mm Set of 6 Assorted Markers.

[+] Studio Guide: How to Use & Store (Click to Expand)

Before starting: Shake the marker well to mix the pigment. Prime the tip by pressing it down gently for a few seconds until the ink begins to flow.

Application: Draw directly on clean, dry fabric. Cotton fabrics are recommended because they absorb the colour evenly and allow better durability after fixing.

Heat Setting: After the design has dried, fix the colour by ironing on the reverse side of the fabric for 5 minutes using the cotton setting without steam. This step bonds the colour to the textile fibres.

Washing: Allow 48 hours after application before washing. Once fixed, decorated textiles can be hand washed or machine washed at up to 40°C.

Storage: Store markers horizontally and keep caps tightly closed after use. Protect from extreme heat and freezing temperatures.

Safety: Use in a well-ventilated area when working on large projects. For full safety information please consult the Safety Data Sheet.

Do I need to heat-set the design?

Yes. Ironing the design on the reverse side for five minutes without steam is required to fix the colour.

When can the decorated fabric be washed?

What fabrics work best with these markers?

Cotton fabrics are recommended for best results. Other fabrics may work but may not hold colour as consistently.
