Wallack's Art Supplies and Framing is Moving to 305 Bank Street
Wallack’s Embarks on a New Chapter: Relocating to Historic 305 Bank Street, Ottawa
OTTAWA, January 29, 2024 – After 90 years of serving the artistic community, Wallack’s is thrilled to announce its relocation to 305 Bank Street, at the intersection of Bank Street and MacLaren Street, just three blocks south of our current location.
The move comes as our existing building, home to Wallack’s since the 1970’s, is set to make way for a condominium development. Following an extensive search, we have found a suitable home within Centretown, preserving our longstanding commitment to this vibrant community.
Our new location, a corner lot heritage building, perfectly aligns with Wallack’s character, and we are excited to become the new custodians of this unique space. The move also brings about several enhancements for our customers:
- Accessible by Public Transit: Situated amidst a number of bus stops including the 6, 7, and 11.
- Free Customer Parking: Enjoy the convenience of limited free parking on site, an increased number of paid parking areas, and dedicated city bike racks. Parking on city streets is free on evenings and weekends.
- Expanded Workshop and Class Space: The new location provides expanded space for workshops and classes.
- Larger Gallery and Event Space: Our new premises will feature a more spacious gallery and event space.
In addition, the surrounding neighbourhood boasts a variety of local shops and restaurants, creating a dynamic environment that complements the creative spirit of Wallack’s. This area is a hub for creativity and community, offering visitors an enriching experience beyond our doors.
As we prepare for this exciting transition, our current location will remain open, offering customers the opportunity to shop from our remaining inventory as we prepare for the move. The move is scheduled to commence at the end of February, leading to the closure of our current location.
Foster's Sports, the current tenant at 305 Bank Street, will also be relocating to 437 Cooper Street, between Bank Street and Kent Street.
We are excited for this next chapter in Wallack’s history. For more information and updates, please visit www.wallacks.com.
